On 1st August 2017, National Economics University in collaboration with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Vietnam organized the MOU signing ceremony. Attending the ceremony, from TECO, there were H.E. Mr. Richard R.C. Shih - Representative, Mr. Ming-Lee - Director of Education Division, Dr. Tung-Yi Lee - Director of Science and Technology Division, Ms. Lisa Lee - First Secretary for Overseas Community Affairs, Ms. Shu-Ching Chang - Third Secretary of Education Division, Ms. Pham Thi Thu - Assistant of Education Division.
From NEU, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Director of International Cooperation Department, Ass.Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Director of Scientific Management Department, Ass.Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Truong - Vice Dean of Urban and Environment Faculty, Dr. Vu Trong Nghia - Director of Communication Department, Dr. Vu Van Ngoc - Deputy Director of Personnel Department.
Making speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat warmly welcomed all delegates from TECO and highly appreciated cooperation between the two sides. The President shared that NEU Training Centre Building was being completed providing advanced facilites to NEU students and staff. Professor Tran Tho Dat hoped that NEU-TECO cooperation would be boosted in the future.
At the cermony, H.E. Mr. Richard sincerely thanked to NEU Board of Management for its warm reception. Signing MOU would open a new stage in TECO-NEU relationship, especially in scientific research. According to the agreement, TECO guarantees to give 60,000 USD to support the project "Enhance Research Collaborationand Experience Sharing between the National Economics University in Vietnam and Institutions in Taiwan on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management".
Following the ceremony, delegates from two sides made a short visit to the Training Centre Building which would be opened in September.
