On 11 May 2017, NEU in collaboration with Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) organized the opening ceremony of the 4th Global CEO Academy (GCA).
Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Park Sang Sik - Minister and Consult General, Korean Embassy in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - General Secretary of Vietnambank's Association, Mr. Kim Jin Oh - Head of KOICA, Mr. Ryu Hang Ha - Chairman of KORCHAM, Mr. Yun Sang Ho - Vice Chairman of Korean Resident Association and Chairman of GCA Alumni, Mr. Park Song Ju - Former Chairman of GCA Alumni, Mr. Park Hyun Soo - Presiding Judge-Supreme Court of Korea, Dr. Lee Young Gie - CEO Academy Advisor, KOICA. From NEU, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thang - Dean of Asia-Pacific Institute of Management.
Making speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat highly appreciated Korean Education system. Over the past ten years, NEU boosted international cooperation with more than 100 foreign universities including Korean universities. Global CEO Academy was one of successful collaborative programs between NEU and Korean partners. The President also thanked Korean Embassy in Vietnam KOICA and other agencies for their support during GCA implementation.
In the context of economic integration, business environment changed quickly and implied unpredictable challenges. Dr. Lee Young Gie hoped that the program would train qualified human resource for Vietnamese socio-economy. He said that there were 38 people including Vietnamese, Thais and Korean participating the 4th intake of Global CEO Academy, which proved the success and reputation of the program.
Mr. Park Sang Sik stated that Korea - Vietnam relationship developed significantly recently and Korea would endeavor to maintain and enhance that relation.
Mr. Kim Jin Oh - Chief Representative of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam highly appreciated training quality and success of Global CEO Academy. Congratulating all participants intake 4, he hoped that they would be able to extend their network, exchange information and experiences and become successful leaders.
With the aim to encourage NEU students, Global CEO Academy Alumni decided to give scholarship worth 5 million VND to 3 students who obtained excelent results in the academic year 2016-2017.
The Global CEO Academy was a good chance for managers and leaders to explore and share their practical experiences in dealing with external changes, improving growth and profit sustainably.
