From 07 to 12/11/2017, National Economics University in collaboration with British Council in Viet Nam and Northampton University, England implemented series of activities around International Conference:” Foresting and Scaling Social Innovation in Asia”.

International conference:”Foresting and Scaling Social Innovation in Asia” took place on 10 and 11 November 2017 with the main activities included: Scaling Social Innovation in Asia policies forum, Academic Conference, Eco-creativity system connection party in Viet Nam and visit to social entrepreneurships and creativity in Ha Noi.
From international guests, there were Mr. Danny Whitehead, British Council's CountryDirector Vietnam ; Prof. Richard Hazenberg – Northampton University; Assoc Prof. Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Cung, Dean of Central Institute for Economic Management; Mr. Tristan Ace, Curator of Social Entrepreneurships in Asia-Paciffic; Mrs. Patsian ,Asia Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN); Mr. Kim Jinseok, Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency ( KoSEA); Dr. Prasetyantoko,President of Atma Jaya Catholic University, Indonesia and more than 200 scholars, researchers, policies makers, graduates,, social entrepreneurs.. From National Economics University, there were Assoc Prof. Pham Hong Chuong, Vice President;Assoc Prof. Bui Duc Tho, Head of Faculty of Management Science; Assoc Prof. Truong Thi Nam Thang, President of CSIE Central (Faculty of Management Science)and NEU’s researchers.

At the conference, Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, Vice President of National Economics University warmly welcomed entire scholars, scientiststo attend the conference and stated : “National Economics University and our partners are very delighted because ICSE Ha Noi has became the annual important forum in South-East Asia area.’’ Vice President of National Economics University hoped that the forum would assist researchers to exchange information, discuss and develop initiatives on foresting and scaling social innovation in Asia.

In the afternoon session on 10 November, the conference was divided into 3 sessions with 24 papers from scholars on the topic: “Developing Eco-system for Social Innovation”, “Multi-cooperation for helping women and livelihood in Viet Nam” and “Strengthen the link between social innovation and university”.

On the sideline of international conference, Eco-creativity system connection party was hold in the evening of 10 November 2017. Attending the conference, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chairman of NEU Council affirmed NEU commitment on fostering social innovation. He also awarded certificates to three groups of authors with the most excellent articles.

Series of activities connecting social enterprise network
On 11 November, international guests paid a visit to social enterprise Dao’s Care and Hanoi Creativity City. International scholars were admired by the development of innovative enterprise model such as Hanoi Creative City as well as the story of overcoming obstacles of blind staffs in Dao’s Care.
Furthermore, the first session of course in innovation and creativities was organized under the program: “ Vietnamese Youth for Innovation Society” for more than 30 lecturers from universities, incubation centers and creative spaces and social entrepreneurships in Viet Nam and Indonesia. Attending opening ceremony of the course, there were Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, Vice president of NEU; Mrs. Tran Thi Hong Gam, British Council in Vietnam; Prof. Richard Hazenberg, Institute of Creative and Impact of Society, Northampton University. The training course took place in November and December of 2017 in National Economics University with 4 modules: Creative for Society, Star-up teaching skills, Social Entrepreneurships and Social Leaderships, Creative Entrepreneurships and all of them were taught by UK’s lecturers.
