On November 23th 2017 at the Ministry of Education and Training, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President of National Economics University attended the meeting between Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Minister of Vietnam Education and Training and Mr. Richard Bruton - Minister of Ireland Education and Skills.
Mr. Richard Bruton paid a visit to Vietnam from 23th to 25th November 2017 for the purpose of boosting bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Ireland, especially in the education field. Attending the meeting, there was Associate Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Nam Thang - Director of Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from National Economics University.
The meeting was held to mark the program of Bilateral Education Exchange between Vietnam and Ireland (VIBE) sponsored via Irish Aid program by Embassy of Ireland. National Economics University is one of four universities receiving support from Ireland for the project named “ Building cooperation between Ireland universities and Vietnam ones for the development of social innovation” in the period of 2017 and 2018. The project is hosted by Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from National Economics University as a main partner and Center for Social Innovation from Dublin University (Ireland).
Under project, the centers from 2 universities will carry out some activities such as student exchange, designing common research programs, holding academic conferences, developing materials on social innovation, designing digital map on Vietnam social enterprise ecology.
Sharing with Prof Juliette Hussey - Vice President of International Cooperation Department and Mr. Simon Williams - Director of International Development, Cooperation and Enterprise from University of Dublin, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat did believe that social innovation was one part of sustainable development. National Economics University committed supporting resources to implement project effectively and efficiently, which would become the model for research cooperation between Vietnam universities and Ireland ones.
