Recently, the delegation of the National Economics University led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - Vice President, visited and worked with leading universities and research institutes in Japan.
Attending the delegation were Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh - Head of the Research Management Department; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Le Quang Canh - Director of the Institute of Sustainable Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Dong - Head of Quality Management Department, Faculty of Business Administration; Prof. Dr. Giang Thanh Long - Senior lecturer of the Department of Economics.
To expand international cooperation in research, training, and improve research, teaching, and policy consulting capacity, the delegation visited and worked with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Japan National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Keio University and Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. The trip has a significant meaning to open cooperative relationships between the National Economics University and leading research and training institutions in the field of economics and management in Japan.
Welcoming the delegation at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) was Dr. Peter Morgan - Senior Economic Consultant, Advisor to the Institute Director, and PhD—Dil Bahadur Rahut - Deputy Head of Research and Senior Research Expert of the Research Department. At the meeting, on behalf of ADBI, two experts provided information about research fields and funding sources. The two sides agreed to co-organize an international conference in Tokyo in March 2024 and plan to publish a special issue in the Asian Development Review (under the ISI/Scopus category).

At the Japan National Institute for Policy Research, Prof. Dr. Yoko Kijima - Deputy Director, Prof. Dr. Masako Kurosawa - Executive Deputy Director, Prof. Dr. Roberto Leon-Gonzales - Director of the Doctoral Training Program on Policy analysts along with professors and management staff of the Institute welcomed the delegation. Here, the two sides had detailed exchanges about GRIPS' training and research activities as well as the possibility of cooperation in training and public policy research between the two sides. At the end of the meeting, representatives of the two units' leaders agreed on some principles and cooperation contents, such as exchanging scholars/research supporting lecturer training.

While visiting and working at Keio University, the two sides discussed the possibility of scientific research cooperation on many topics of mutual interest. At the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies (GSAPS) of Waseda University, welcoming the delegation were Prof. Dr. Seio Nakajima - Director, Prof. Dr. Kaoru Nabeshima - Director of the Vietnamese Research Program Nam, and a number of professors who teach and research in different fields, leaders, and staff of departments and training support departments. The two sides agreed on the possibility of co-organizing the CIEMB international conference in 2024, a scholar exchange program, joint research possibilities in many research topics, and support for faculty training.

The business trip ended successfully, opening up opportunities for cooperation in scientific research, teacher training, as well as scholar/research exchange with leading universities and research institutes in Japan. It is expected that cooperative activities will begin implementation in 2024.
