Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has established an economic advisory group led by Dr. Vu Viet Ngoan - Former Head of the National Financial Supervisory Commission.
The group includes 14 members who are acknowledged experts from Vietnam and foreign countries such as the United States, Japan, France, and Singapore. The members are:
- Dr. Vu Viet Ngoan - Former Head of the National Financial Supervisory Commission
- Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President of the National Economics University
- Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh from Indiana, the U.S.
- Dr. Vu Thanh Tu Anh - Research Director of the Fulbright Economic Teaching Program in Ho Chi Minh City
- Dr. Vu Bang - Former Chairman of the State Securities Commission
- Dr. Nguyen Dinh Cung - President of the Central Institute for Economic Management
- Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong from France
- Associate Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong from National University of Singapore
- Dr. Tran Du Lich - Former President of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Economics
- Dr. Truong Van Phuoc - Acting Chairman of National Financial Supervisory Commission
- Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics
- Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - President of Viet Nam Institute of Economics
- Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tho from Waseda, Japan
- Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan - President of Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences
- Bui Quang Vinh - Former Minister of Planning and Investment
They will advise the Prime Minister on mid- and long-term economic policies, strategies and annual socio-economic development plans.
On July 29, NEU President Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - a member of Advisory Group had participated the first working session held by the Prime Minister in order to analyze the current national economic situation and provide solutions to remedy any shortcomings in the economy.
