Scientific Seminar: Vietnam’s economy in the first 6 months of 2016 and BREXIT effects
On 14th July 2016, National Economics University in collaboration with Central Economic Committee and Economic Commission of Congress organized the scientific seminar on Vietnam’s econmy in the first 6 months of 2016 and BREXIT effects. It was said that the emerging issues of Vietnam’s and global economy in the first six months of 2016 including difficulties and challenges to the economy currently, and difficulties for policy makers in seeking for feasible solutions for those problems. BREXIT did not effect directly on Vietnam’s economy due to the fact that English investment and financial transactions were not considerable, and there were not many Vietnamese owning GBP.
Student exchange with Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, Guilin, China
According to the Memorandum between National Economics University and Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (Guilin, China), on 14th July 2016, 16 NEU students went to Guilin, China to participate the Chinese course in 2 weeks. The course included different subjects relating to Chinese such as Chinese traditional music instruments, dance, calligraphy, and many extra-curriculum activities.
Dr. Neil Stott - Executive Director of the Centre for Social Innovation, University of Cambridge visited National Economics University
On 10th August 2016, Dr. Neil Stott - Executive Director of the Centre for Social Innovation, University of Cambridge paid a visit to NEU with the aim to strengthen the relationship between NEU and BC, as well as seek for new collaborative chances between NEU and University of Cambridge, especially in researching social innovation.Dr. Stott met the key lectuers and researchers concerning social enterprises and social innovation and gave a professional talk on social innovation to NEU students and lecturers.
Delegation of Agence Francaise de Developpement visit National Economics University
On 15th August 2016, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat – President of the National Economics University had a meeting with the delegation of Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD). Currently, AFD was seeking for academic partners to join collaboration between AFD and Vietnam Institute for Advanced study in Mathematics (VIASM) in order to build up a macroeconomic model to Vietnam with the aim to figure out and quantify the effects of climate change on Vietnam economy and evaluate the poliices on energy in Vietnam. Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat hoped that NEU and AFD would keep contact and discuss in detail the cooperative areas and drafting the memoratdum of understanding between two sides.

In September 2016, the delegation of the National Economics University (NEU) led by Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President had a visit to University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany. NEU and Koblenz-Landau signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Exchange including master program in “Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation Management – ETIM”.

On 13rd September 2016, H.E. Mr. Rudy Demotte - Minister, President of Government of the French Community of Belgium (Wallonie-Brussels) visits and talks with students of National Economics University. He highly appreciated the achievements of NEU in education & research and hoped that the alumni of Vietnam-Belgium Master Program would become the representatives of Wallonie.be, connecting businesses in Wallonie and Vietnam, opening more new cooperative opportunities between two sides.
