On 21 December 2016, Viettel in collaboration with the National Economics University organized the ceremony of awarding scholarships worth 150 million VND to NEU students who overcame life's difficulties and got excellent academic results.
Attending the ceremony, about distinguished guests, there were Major Phung Van Cuong - Deputy General Director of Viettel, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Tuan, Major Dang Tai Han, Director of Department of Education, Captain Nguyen Duy Minh - Deputy Director of Viettel Branch in Hanoi. From NEU, there were Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - Vice President, MA. Nguyen Hoang Ha - Director of Political and Students Affairs Office, Assoc Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Kham - Vice Dean of School of Banking and Finance, Dr. Bui Trung Hai - Secretary of NEU Youth Union.
At the ceremony, Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong said that Viettel Scholarship was one of valuable programs which provided NEU students with financial support. The Vice President sincerely thanked to the leaders of Viettel for their assistance to NEU students and hoped that two sides would enhance cooperation in the future. Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong also stated that Viettel scholarship would be the motivation for NEU students to study and succeed in future career.
Major Phung Van Cuong - Deputy General Director of Viettel shared that he was emotional at the first time conferring scholarship to NEU excellent students, which recalled his memory from the past. He hoped that the students would take advantage of those scholarship to pursue their study.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Thi To Uyen - NEU student gratefully thanked to Viettel and the Board of Management for their support. She also promised to study hard and become a good citizen.
Viettel had selected 30 students whose difficult lives and excellent academic results to award scholarship worth 150 million VND. The ceremony marked a new step in relationship between NEU and Viettel. After that, the two sides discussed long-term cooperation including scholarship program, joint education, scientific research and the like.
