Since our establishment, NEU has always paid special attention to developing international academic cooperation. We currently have cooperation with over 100 institutions and organisations from 30 countries including Austria, Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, and others.
In the early years of the Renovation, we received support from the governments of many countries. Our partnership activities include not only cooperative training programs but also joint research projects and other activities such as lecturer and student exchanges.
NEU was one of the first universities in Vietnam to implement international joint training programs with currently 27 programs. All international programs are of highly appreciated and have attracted many distinguished students.
Our university is also well acknowledged for joint research with international academic organizations. These research studies have been increased substantially and highly appreciated for their high quality. There are joint projects conducted in accordance with agreements between the Vietnamese Government and governments of Hungary, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Thailand and others. We also have been collaborated with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Foundation of Vietnam Development Forum (VDF), the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), the World Bank (WB), the Asia Development Bank (ADB), the Department for International Development (DFID – UK), and AusAID (Australia).
International cooperation programs have made significant contributions to university reputation. Thanks to the accomplishment in this field, our university has been praised and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam as one of the few universities in the country with diversified and effective international cooperation programs. We believe that these achievements are solid and fundamental for our participation in the international cooperation activities in an integrated and global context on a sustainable and equal partnership basis.
