CPA Australiathis week renewed Cooperation Agreements with the National Economics University(NEU) and the Academy of Finance (AOF) at signing ceremonies held in Hanoi on 31 October and 1 November respectively.
The original agreements signed in 2009 and 2010 set the legal framework for collaboration between the two universities and CPA Australia. Since then CPA Australia has made a significant contribution to the training of accounting and finance students at both universitiesthrough a series of career orientation workshops, expos, training events and seminars. These events aim to give students a competitive advantage in the employment market and access to a wide network of employers.
The new agreements create a strong platform for CPA Australia and the two universities to enhance their relationship and deepen their cooperation in the context of increased international integration and the fourth industrial revolution. They provide the respective organisations with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas, and enable CPA Australia to provide continued support to students, lecturers and tutors of both universities. A strong connection with one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies offering a range of student-centred activities and programs will help the two universities boost the career readiness of their students.
Highlighting the value of these relationships, CPA Australia also presented NEUwith an accreditation certificate for its Bachelor of Accounting program. Of the 751accredited CPA Australia programs offered at universities in Australia and around the world, this is the first local university in Vietnam to have a CPA Australia accredited bachelor program. This means that the program has been assessed to ensure it contains the right content to equip students with the technical skills necessary to pursue a career in accounting.
“All these activities help CPA Australia deliver on its goal of building the technical capabilities of accounting and finance graduates, and advancing these professions in Vietnam. CPA Australia is committed to delivering the highest quality education program to support and improve the technical skills of local accounting and finance professionals” said Kerry Mayne, General Manager, Acquisition and Public Sector Engagement at CPA Australia.
