Under the cooperation between the National Economics University and Royal Roads University, Canada, and the collaboration between the National Economics University and the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (Humber College), Canada, the NEU student exchange program is run annually and receives many applications of many outstanding students. In 2020, 4 NEU students get the SEED funded by the Canadian Government for a 4-month exchange program at Royal Roads University and Humber College.
The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program aims to reduce poverty in the developing countries of ASEAN and to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The scholarship value for students is CAD 10,200 (approximately 180,000,000 VND) for undergraduate students for a minimum of four months or one academic term of study or research. The scholarship will cover the following costs: visa and/or study/work permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living expenses, such as accommodation, utilities and food, ground transportation expenses, including a public transportation pass, and books and supplies required for the recipient’s study or research, excluding computers and other equipment.
4 NEU students receiving the scholarship are: Kieu Minh Huyen (POHE Marketing 60 – School of Advanced Educational Programs), Nguyen Thu Trang (K56-E-BBA9-A-NEU Business School), Nguyen Tra My (K56-E-BBA9-A-NEU Business School), Mai Anh Van (Hotel Management 58 – Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality). All of them have outstanding academic performance with GPA at least 8.5 and IELTS score at least 7.0 and participate in many activities such as scientific research, volunteer, collaborators of the Department of International Cooperation, NEU in exchange programs and foreign relation activities.
Student Kieu Minh Huyen shared that she was happy to get the scholarship. After a long time for application preparation and study hard, this result made her feel perfect. She felt lucky when receiving enthusiasm support from the Department of International Cooperation. She suggested that NEUers should be self-confident to apply for the scholarships.
Every year, NEU runs exchange programs with many partners from the USA, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, German, Hungary, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan. Students can submit their application to Mrs. Thu Giang at thugiang@neu.edu.vn at Room 610, A1 Building.
