On the morning of April 8, 2024, a delegation of experts from the Singapore Mediation Association and ResoX Mediation Organization visited and shared a lecture on "ADR Alternative Dispute Resolution - Singapore's Experience" with participants, students of the University. Welcoming and chatting intimately with experts from the Singapore Mediation Association and ResoX Mediation Organization, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu welcomed and thanked the delegation for taking the time to visit and work at the University. At the meeting, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu discussed and introduced the University's development history, strengths and achievements in recent years. Assoc Prof. Hieu hopes that this visit will play an important role in promoting further development of cooperation in law training of the University with associations and mediation organizations, contributing to enhancing practical skills for students and meeting the increasing demands of learners

On behalf of the expert group, Ms. Linda Heng - Co- founder, Director of ResoX Mediation Organization thanked the leaders of the National Economics University for the warm welcome, and shared, in addition to economic aspects, Singapore's economic and socio-cultural system, legal and judicial system and favorable factors for arbitration and conciliation to develop strongly in Vietnam in the future. The Singapore Mediation Association and ResoX Mediation are always looking forward to collaborating and sharing successful experiences in developing dispute resolution methods through arbitration and mediation to enhance communication . changes to promote the development of the above dispute resolution methods in Vietnam. Ms. Linda Heng hopes that in the future the two organizations will have more in-depth exchanges and cooperation, in accordance with the National Economics University's goal of developing and strengthening international cooperation.

Following the exchange, representatives of ResoX Mediation Organization shared about commercial mediation practices in Singapore, as well as the Government's role in promoting the use of ADRs. Accordingly, in Singapore, conciliation is the main method to resolve disputes, parties participating in court proceedings are encouraged to conciliate before bringing disputes to court. In addition, Ms Linda Heng also pointed out two main factors in promoting the development of the mediation method, including: strengthening the construction and organization of training programs on mediation to enhance the dispute resolution capacity of mediators, lawyers, and legal practitioners through commercial mediation, and ensuring the recognition of mediation outcomes through accession to the 2018 Singapore Convention on Mediation.
The welcome of law experts on alternative dispute resolution to visit and lecture at National Economics University is an event conducted annually by the Faculty of Law in collaboration with a number of departments, faculties and institutes of NEU.
The purpose of the event is to create a forum for students and lecturers of the Faculty of Law and the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality Training & POHE of the University to exchange, learn and share experiences of Singapore and other countries on ADR - alternative dispute resolution in today's turbulent world. Introducing, propagating about arbitration activities, conciliation and sharing about some actual legal cases in different countries that have been implemented, thereby helping NEU's lecturers and students have mỏe understandings about this activity.
Within two hours, lecturers and students of the University were shared by experts including: Ms. Linda Heng - sharing about the three pillars to successfully build a mediation model in practice in Singapore; Mr. Dixon Soh - shared about Singapore's experience in mediating intellectual property disputes; Ms. Donna Ross - Independent lawyer, arbitrator and mediator and founder of Donna Ross Dispute Resolution Centre introduces mediation model and experience in Australia; Mr. Michael Lam - Mediator shared his experience in community mediation from the perspective of members of the Singapore Mediation Association and Mr. Stephen Poh introduced and shared about the skills required of a mediator from AMC - a Singaporean mediation organization.
Through the content organized in the lecture, participants are equipped with valuable knowledge and up-to-date skills that can be applied when practicing law on alternative dispute resolution in practice.
