On June 8, at the Vietnam-Canada Business Roundtable in Quebec, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc accompanied by Ministers and high-ranking delegation witnessed the Conferring Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam and Canada including the Cooperation Agreement between the National Economics University and the University of Quebec at Montreal.
At the ceremony, on Vietnamese side, there were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc accompanied by Head of Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Home Affair Le Vinh Tan, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc, Vice Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc together with the representatives of Vietnamese Government and Canadian Government.
On Canadian site, there were the Leaders of the University of Quebec at Montreal, the representatives of Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Science and Innovation at Quebec state, other Canadian institutes, universities and enterprises along with Vietnamese students at Quebec, Canada.
From the National Economics University, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President accompanied by Dr. Dong Xuan Dam - Dean of International School of Management and Economics.
In fact, although the comprehensive political relationship between the two countries has been enhanced recently, economic, investment, commercial partnerships still limited and under both sides' potentials. This makes the two parties put some such questions as how to cooperate to take advantage of the opportunities of global economic recovery, the Industrial Revolution 4.0, bringing into play the potential of each side.
Vietnam belives in and expect of FDI from Canadian investors in the field of finance-banking, tourism, real estate, energy, healthcare, education, infrastructure, technology, etc though M&A, their participation in the equitization of SOEs or Public -Private Partnership (PPP). In addition, Vietnam is building three special economic zones with competitive institutions. This is an opportunity for Canadian businesses to invest in Vietnam.
Vietnam - Canada Business Roundtable will be a foundation for the new, practical and more effective stage of cooperation, thus bringing prosperity to each nation, promoting and deepening the relationship between the two countries.
