Teaching and research on climate change economics has been carried out and increasingly promoted in many universities and research institutes.
Accordingly, the research results on climate change are increasingly important and applied in designing policies to respond to climate change in many countries. National Economics University is one of the first universities in Vietnam to incorporate climate change and climate change into the curriculum of the training system since 2005.
Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat, President of the National Economics University (NEU), said that for the purpose of teaching and dissemination of knowledge on climate change economics at NEU as well as in other economics school, NEU is compiling the curriculum of Climate Change Economics and this curriculum is expected to be published in 2019.
In the coming time, NEU will intensify teaching of climate change in masters programs, doctorate programs and short-term training programs for localities. At the same time, the university will launch a bachelor degree in economics and climate change management in order to start and develop new subjects in the fields of economy, policy and management of climate change.
