CPA Program consists of 6 professional subjects. For non-accredited accounting degrees or non-accounting degree, where students may lack certain core knowledge to be eligible to take the CPA Program directly, they can take the foundation exams as an entry pathway before attempting the professional subjects. NEU and CPA Australia had made efforts to accredit NEU's accounting degree syllabus to be exempt from the Foundation exams. 4 out of 6 Foundation exams were exempted and met the core knowledge requirements of the CPA Program. NEU looked to work with CPA Australia to exempt the remaining 2 Foundation exams and had their accounting degree fully accredited in the near future.
Assoc Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong emphasized that NEU would prepare well to meet the requirements of CPA during accreditation, making contribution to improving training quality at NEU.
Mr. Mark Chau - Regional Manager of CPA Australia believed that accreditation would help the university boost its education quality and prestige.
