At the invitation of President of Asian University (Taiwan), from 05 to 07/12/2018, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President led the delegation to attend at the forum of Presidents of Universities in Asia and Southeast Asia, with the theme "Challenges and Opportunities for Higher Education in the Artificial Intelligence Era" in Taiwan.
Joining the delegation was Dr. Le Viet Thuy - Deputy Director of Training Management Department; Dr. Duong Duc Tam - Lecturer of Faculty of Environment and Urban.
Attending at the forum, there were the presidents of Asia's top universities, such as Prof. Intan AhmadActing - President of the University of Negeri Jakarta (Jakarta State University); Prof. Joni HermanaRector - President of Teknologi Research Institute, Bandung, Indonesia; Prof. Sakarindr Bhumiratana - King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thailand; Prof. Sr.Narayanan - Managing Director of Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science, India ... and many of the guests are Presidents, Head of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and Taiwan Research Institutes.
At the forum, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President gave a lecture on "Smart University and Implications for NEU" that brings to the forum a comprehensive view of the application of artificial intelligence, the application of science and technology of revolution 4.0 applying at the NEU. In addition, the Professor also shared the advantages and disadvantages of applying the advances of information technology in management at the University/ He also called for cooperation between universities to jointly issue specific solutions. This is one of the topics being most discussed at the forum, which significantly shows the interest of international friends in orienting education system of Vietnam in the era of artificial intelligence in general and in National Economics University in particular.
Also at the forum, there are many emerging topics such as "Artificial Intelligence and the Higher Education Revolution: Opportunities and Challenges"; "Industrial Revolution 4.0 - An Integrated Strategy to Address the Challenges of the Artificial Intelligence Age"; "The role of artificial intelligence in higher education"; "Who in the changing context of higher education" ...
During the visit, the delegation visited the headquarters of HIWIN Technologies Corp and Art Museum of Asian University. Along with that, the delegation also visited a number of Smart Class models, online teaching system and artificial intelligence in teaching at the IT Training Institute of Taiwan.
