On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom; the 25th anniversary of the operation of British Council in Vietnam and UK GREAT campaign of the UK Embassy, British Council incorporated with Ministry of Education and Training to implement a series of seminars with the theme: "Social Innovation Tour". In this program, National Economics University also played an important role as the organizer partner in Hanoi.
At the conference, Mr. Bui Tien Dung represented on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training - Department of Political Education and Student Works. On the side of British Council in Vietnam, there were Ms. Donna McGowan - Country Director; Ms. Tran Thi Hong Gam - Manager of Society & Development Program; Ms. Hoang Van Anh - Manager of Higher Education Program. Finally, National Economics University had the presence of Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President; Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Nam Thang - Director of Center for Creative and Social Entrepreneurship and NEU staffs
Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President of National Economics University joyfully shared the establishment of Center for Creative and Social Entrepreneurship (CSIE) in February 2017. CSIE is the pioneering center of research, training, business incubation, and social entrepreneurship among universities in Vietnam and a few in Asia. After more than a year, the center has set its leading position in the field with many national and international activities. These practical actions have demonstrated the high commitment of NEU in the entrepreneurship promotion as a part of society and sustainable development.
Ms. Donna McGowan - Country Director of British Council in Vietnam, expressed her great gratitude and honor to work with National Economics University in organizing a series of conferences. Through this program, Ms. Donna McGowan hoped to widespread awareness of social creativity, promote the innovation of entrepreneurship and start-ups to all students.
Dr. Belinda Bell has founded a solid research fundamental for social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Moreover, she is not only a creator of a Master program in Social Innovation at Cambridge University; but also a director in ‘Social entrepreneurship’ program, which supports start-ups with consulting and training services, also free working space.
The fascinating and engaging conferences have revolved around many topics of social innovation, social entrepreneurship and the opportunity to study, research on social entrepreneurship and social innovation at Cambridge University, particularly in the UK in general. This is the start of a series of conferences in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
