On the morning of 26th November 2020, the National Economics University and Asian Institute of Technology signed the agreements on academic cooperation to enhance the broad and comprehensive collaboration between the two institutions. The signing ceremony is held in the online form by Zoom.
Attending the ceremony, from AIT, there were Dr. Eden Woon – AIT President, Prof. Deepak Sharma – Vice President, Dr. Phung Van Dong – Director of AITCV. From the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, there were Dr. Nguyen Xuan Vang – Director General of International Cooperation Department. From NEU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong – NEU President, Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa – NEU Vice President together with Heads of NEU faculties and schools, NEU lecturers and students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding between NEU and AIT would be a milestone for the enhancement of comprehensive cooperation, potential enhancement and developing high-quality human resources in the post-Covid-19 period. The President believed that with the signed strategic cooperation agreement, AIT and NEU will be one of the locations for human resource training, undergraduate and graduate programs in the coming time.
The purpose of this gathering is to officiate the agreement for a broad and comprehensive collaboration between NEU and AIT in student and staff exchange, PhD, DBA, Master's and Unified programs, and symposia of mutual interest. Specially, the two parties have agreed to develop the Unified program in which AIT programs is embedded into NEU curriculum. Such model enables students to shorten the time to finish Bachelor and Master program at NEU and AIT, and opens the chances for students to study abroad with suitable expenses.
