On November 29, 2018, the National Economics University co-operated with Australian National University to organize the first international conference on "Contemporary Issues in Economics, Management and Business” (CIEMB 2018).
Attending at the conference, there were Mr. Haim Ramon - former Vice Prime Minister of Israel; Prof. Peter J. N. Sinclair - University of Birmingham, UK, Member of the Board of the Royal British Council, Consultant of Bank of England; Prof. Zuev Vladimir - Research Director, Graduate School of Economics, Russian State University of Research; Prof. Richard Hazenberg - Director, Institute for Social Impact and Innovation, University of Northampton, UK; Prof. Long Chu - Senior Lecturer, Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University (ANU). On behalf of NEU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thu Giang and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of Foreign Trade University; with national and international experts, speakers.
Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President welcomed all the guests, experts, speakers from all over the world and Vietnam, who came to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of economics, governance and business. Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat said: "The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is bringing great changes. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum once said: ‘We are on the brink of a technological revolution that fundamentally reshapes the way we produce, consume, the way we communicate, even the way we live .... Although we are taking steps to open the door of this revolution. It is clear that in order to adapt, we must have an integrated and comprehensive approach involving all fields from socialization to civilization’. Therefore, It is important to gather experts to identify our potential contributions to growth and development. Through discussion sessions, open discussions within the framework of the workshop, the conference is aimed to develop ideas on contemporary issues in economics, management and business and solutions to the current challenges in the context of globalization.
Over 250 research papers have been sent to the conference and nearly 200 papers have been published in the Proceedings of the Conference from a wide range of researchers and scholars from universities and research institutes throughout the world such as Australia, UK, Russia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Rumania, ... With a large scale, the conference was organized into 15 parallel sessions on many topics of business management, administration and business, chaired by leading economists from the National Economics University and guest speakers from abroad.
