On November,11th,2021, National Economics University successfully organized The Fourth International Scientific Conference "Contemporary Issues in Economics, Management and Business – 4th CIEMB 2021).
At the conference, on the side of the guests, there were Mr. Ouk Serethor - Secretary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Vietnam; Ms. Masriati Lita Saada Pratama - Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia; Ms. Dang Trang - Director of ICAEW in Vietnam; Mr. Sukmo Koo - Director of V&H Home; together with experts, scientists, policy makers from countries around the world.
On the side of the National Economics University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - NEU President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - NEU Vice President; together with representatives of leaders of units, officials and lecturers in the University.
Besides, there were Professor Lisa Magnani - Deputy of the Faculty of Economics, Macquarie University, Australia; Prof. Clifford J. Shultz - Loyola University Chicago, USA; Mr. Francois Painchaud - Chief Resident Representative of the IMF in Vietnam/Laos; Dr. Abel Duarte Alonso - Rmit University, Australia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - NEU President emphasized that the annual international scientific conference - CIEMB is one of the important international forums for scholars, economic experts, and researchers to share, exchange and discuss research projects, strategies to stimulate sustainable development related to contemporary issues of Economics, Administration and Business.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong proposed solutions to open the economy step by step in a new normal stage. He assured the importance of vaccine injection on a nationwide scale. Besides, he mentioned the government should accelerate the speed of implementing economic policies to address the difficulties of businesses.
Making recommendations on recovery and growth policies, Mr. Francois Painchaud - IMF Resident Representative in Vietnam/Laos said that Vietnam needed to improve its resilience to shocks of the economy, strengthen the flexibility of monetary policies, social security policies and improve labor productivity.
At the CIEMB Conference 2021, experts and scientists discussed three major issues including: fiscal policy and monetary policy; domestic and international supply chains; social security and labor resources.
The conference received more than 120 articles of scholars, researchers, policy makers and lecturers from Vietnam and 10 countries around the world. More than 70 articles were selected to be presented in 16 parallel sessions on various fields such as finance, accounting, agri-economics, environment, business administration, macroeconomics, marketing, microeconomics, human resource management, international business…. These parallel sessions are taking place in the coming time. Five best articles were awarded to researchers from National Economics University, Fennika University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Institute of Strategy and Environmental Policy and Hull Business University, UK.
