On 15 August 2017, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President warmly welcomed Mr. Jeffrey Alderman - ACBSP President/CEO (USA) accompanied by Dr. Jajesh Khajuria - Chair of Region 10, Mr. Pramod - Former Chair of Region 10 and Mr. Truong Cong Duan - Head of Program Development at FPT University. Attending the meeting, there were MA. Le Xuan Tung - Director of Educational Quality and Examination, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Director of International Cooperation Department, Ass Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - Director of Center for Advanced Educational Programs, Ass Prof. Dr. Le Thi Lan Huong - Dean of NEU Business School.
Speaking at the meeting, Professor Tran Tho Dat presented a brief overview on NEU development and sincerely thanked Mr. Jeffrey Alderman for visiting NEU. He affirmed that expanding international collaboration was one of the top priorities with the aim to improve educational quality towards international standards.
Mr. Jeffrey Alderman also expressed his pleasure to visit NEU in his first trip to Vietnam. He shared information about international conference on Higher educational quality examination in Hanoi hosted by ACBSP. He hoped that NEU would successfully complete accreditation process in the coming time.
ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) is a leading specialized accreditation body for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels worldwide. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in 2001 and again in 2011, ACBSP was the first to offer specialized business accreditation at all degree levels.
In 2016, NEU had submitted accreditation profile to and become a member of ACBSP since May, 2017. NEU and ACBSP have accredited 11 higher educational programs including 2 advanced educational programs, 6 excellent educational programs, 2 professional oriented higher education programs, and 1 bachelor program (business administration) in English. It is expeceted to submit the self-assessment report in July 2018.
