On the morning of March 13,
2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - Vice President and representatives of
leaders of the units, had a meeting and worked with Ms. Marieke Nieuwendijk -
Country Program Manager of the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC).
Overview of the working session
Attending the meeting, on the side of National Economics University, there were also Dr.
Vu Trong Nghia - Head of the Communications Department; Dr. Vu Van Ngoc
- Dean of Advanced Education Programs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc
Truong - Dean of Faculty of Environment, Climate Change and
Urban Studies; with lecturers and staff of the University.
On behalf of the University's
leaders, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - Vice President, welcomed Ms. Marieke
Nieuwendijk to visit and work at the University. Assoc. Bui Huy Nhuong affirmed
that Vietnam and the Netherlands had a long-term and reliable cooperation
relationship over the past time. The National Economics University is always
ready to expand its cooperation with Dutch educational institutions in order to
strengthen this partnership related to research, teaching and international economic
projects. This is also one of the priority and important activities in the
development strategy of the University, especially the long-term cooperation
relationship between the National Economics University and partners in the
Netherlands, which can be mentioned as follows: Saxion University of and Applied
Sciences in the framework of the project "Strengthening
capacity in training and experiential learning" (Saxion - NEU Draw Down
Project), sponsored by the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC), within the framework of the
Orange Knowledge Program - Tailor Made Training (OKP-TMT). This is a testament
to a series of cooperative activities that have been effectively implemented
between the two countries.
Assoc. Vice President also
emphasized that the National Economics University will continue to promote the
process of internationalization and modernization of training programs in
economics and management, climate change, and agricultural economics. This
demonstrates the University's commitment to building educational programs in
line with labor market needs, improving students' job prospects after
graduation for the benefit of workers and businesses and serving the common
interests of the nation.
On the occasion of the 50th
anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the
Netherlands in 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong hopes that NEU and NUFFIC
will jointly promote the spirit of dynamism, innovation, and community
connection and spread knowledge and values for Vietnam's and
the Netherlands' sustainable development.

Thank you for the warm
welcome from the University's leaders, Ms. Marieke Nieuwendijk - Country Programme Manager of the Netherlands Organization for
International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC), briefly introduced the
strategic vision as well as the activities of the Organization; at the same
time, hope to have more opportunities to cooperate with the National Economics
University through research on economic, social and environmental issues; in
teaching and planning policies for sustainable development in the future.
At the meeting, the two sides
exchanged and discussed cooperation opportunities on POHE's
application-oriented training programs, linking learning activities in the
classroom with businesses through field trips, management agencies; associated
with corporate environmental issues and research cooperation programs between
the two units.

The project "Strengthening capacity in
training and experiential learning" (Saxion - NEU Draw Down Project) is
designed to increase training in climate change and economics and water
resource management, agricultural economics and food security in Vietnam. The
project is to transfer the experience of the Netherlands to Vietnam in renewing
curricula to respond to climate change, promoting the implementation of the
Circular Economy, transforming the economic model towards sustainability and
increasing capacity on training methods with experience of
learners, increasing applicability and relevance to reality.
