On 13 December 2017, on behalf of NEU, Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Thị Van Hoa, Vice President of NEU had a meeting with delegates from Samsung Group on designing a training program for Vietnamese consultants within the framework of cooperation of Ministry of Trade and Industry and Samsung Group.
Attending the meeting, there were Mr. Jang Yoon Ho, Group Leader, Director, Partner Collaboration G, Vietnam Procurement Center from Samsung Group; Ms. Pham Thi Thao, Secretary of Training Program from Ministry of Trade and Industry. From NEU, there were Dr. Vu Tuan Anh, Director of Business Consulting Center, Mr. Pham Sy Long, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department.
Overview of the meeting
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa emphasized: “NEU is honored to be selected by Ministry of Trade and Industry and Samsung to become a partner for training program. This is very new direction for Vietnam in general and NEU in particular. With the aim of becoming industrialized nation, Vietnam has been cooperating with many developed countries in the world including Korea, particularly Korea enterprises like Samsung Group. Vietnam Government also has certain incentives for Korea companies, especially for Samsung Group". She hoped the program would tighten relationship between NEU and Samsung Group, and boost the quality of human resource in Vietnam. The Business Consulting Center, NEU would be in charge of discussing and implementing the content of the training program.

In response to favourable reception of NEU, Mr. Jang Yoon Ho was looking forwards to organizing training program at NEU with the support of Ministry of Trade and Industry. He said that the training content was to detect and solve enterprises' issues through manufacture management, quality management, innovation, logistics and project management activities. After theoretical lessons, learners would collaborate with selected companies to solve their problems with the help of advisors and consultants from Samsung Group.
