On September 14th 2017, National Economics University hosted a meeting for new international students in the academic year 2017- 2018.
Attending the meeting, there was Mr. AmphavanhKouangmanivanh - Education and Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam. From NEU, there were Assoc Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong - Vice president, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Director of International Cooperation Department, Assoc Prof. Dr. Vu Kim Dzung - Dean of Faculty of Economic Studies, Pharmacist Le Duc Hung - Head of NEU Clinic, Dr. Dang Thi Le Xuan - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Planning and Development, MSc. Do Thu Ha - Deputy Director of Accounting and Auditing Department, MSc. Nguyen Hong Manh - Deputy Director of Facilities Management Department and 62 new international students from Laos and Cambodia.

Addressing at the meeting, Assoc Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong said that: ”I do believe that thanks to help and support from lecturers and friends, you will be able to integrate yourself into new learning environment and to perform your enthusiasm and youth in studying. You will also introduce tradition of Laos and Cambodia to Vietnam, enhance Vietnam's image, and tighten the lasting relationship between Laos-Vietnam-Cambodia”. Additionally, Assoc Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong sincerely thanked Embassy of Laos and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia for their support over the last years.

Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Director of
International Cooperation Department gave an overview of enrollment of international students including 52 Laos students and 10 Cambodian
students. Dr. Dao Thanh Tung also shared that NEU and the Embassy of Laos and
Cambodia usually exchanged the
information about enrollment and registration
process, procedures, training programs,
scholarships. Furthermore, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung emphasized that NEU had been
making every effort to create the best learning environment for new students
always willing to help them access information about the school, health
insurance, and scholarships. He congratulated the new students and expected
them to be able to integrate into a multicultural, multilingual environment,
and gain valuable experience.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Amphavanh Kouangmanivanh - Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam shared that he was proud of being an alumnus of the National Economics University and thanked NEU Board of Management for their considerable support for human resource training in Laos.
The end of meeting were gifts conferring for international students and musical performance of NEU students.
