On 15 August 2017, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President had a meeting with the delegation of Australian Embassy in Hanoi led by Ms. Joanna Wood - Educational Counsellor.
NEU President warmly welcomed Ms. Joanna and shared that it was NEU's pleasure to be a strategic partner of Australian National University ranked among the 20 most prestigious universities in the world. The cooperation between NEU and ANU had reached fruitful results over the past years. On the ocassion of NEU 60th anniversary, NEU had confered 2 friendship medals and 3 medals for educational career upon 5 ANU professors in recognise their contribution to NEU development.
Ms. Joanna Wood said that Australian would be willing promote collaboration between NEU and Australian universitties in education and research. After the meeting, she also delivered a short speech to share with NEU students and staff the information on studying in Australia and Australian Government scholarships, followed by the lecture on “From rubbish to publish: What’s hot and what’s not” presented by Dr Long Chu, researcher from the Crawford School of Public Policy – Australian National University.
Through his presentation titled “From rubbish to publish: What’s hot and what’s not”, Dr Long addressed the topical directions in agricultural and environmental economics research and shared with the audience his experience in writing high-quality research papers.
Dr Long is in Hanoi for a 10-day visit under the Australia-Vietnam Researcher Exchange Program, an initiative of the Australian Government that aims to deepen the research collaboration between Australian and Vietnamese universities.
