Opening ceremony of NEU-DSU International Bachelor Degree in Business Management Intake 1
On 21st October, the opening ceremony of NEU-DSU International Bachelor Degree in Business Management Intake 1 jointly conducted by the National Economics University (NEU) and Dongseo Univeresity, Korea (DSU) was organized formally at NEU. The program is designed by both two sides with updated and applicable subjects. Completing the program at NEU and DSU, students will receive bachelor degree offered by DSU. Dr. Hekyung Kim – Dean of Global Studies Insittute and Dr. Sung-Kyung Ryu – Dean of Business attended the ceremony. They strongly believed in the long-lasting collaboration between two sides and emphasized that DSU was willing to welcome all NEU students to come and study there and they would have meaningfull and unforgettable time at DSU.
International Conference “Business Capacity: Models and assessment tools”
On 5th October, Faculty of Business Management, National Economics University organized the international conference “Business Capacity: Models and assessment tools”. Assessing financial index is the usual approach to business capacity in Vietnam. However, in fact, business capacity should be evaluated comprehensively through organization management, human resource, technology and finance… by models and assessment tools. The international conference was held with the aim to recommend practical solutions to that issue.
Guangxi Normal University congratulated National Economics University on the 60th anniversary
On 28th October 2016, Mr. Quach Nguyen Binh – Director of Recruitment Department and Mrs. Ngo Tue Quan – Manager of Cooperative Program in Vietnam on behalf of Guangxi Normal University visited and transferred the congratulatory letter of Prof. Luong Hong – President of Guangxi Normal University to NEU. Besides, GNU presented a picture of Guilin to NEU with the hope that the relationship between two universities would be strengthened and reach more fruitful results in the future. Mr. Quach Nguyen Binh also invited Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat to visit GNU in the times to come.
International conference “Education and Research on Market Economy of universities in Vietnam”
With the aim to assess the contribution of universities in education and research on market economy, and propose policies on improving the role of Vietnamese universities in training and scientific research, on 4th November 2016, National Economics University organized the international conference “Education and Research on Market Economy of universities in Vietnam”. The conference included plenary session in the morning and three thematic sessions in the afternoon. It received 60 qualified articles, including 13 articles of foreign researchers.
Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat had meetings with Boards of Management of California State University, San Bernardino and California State University, Long Beach
On 10th November 2016, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President met Prof. Tomas D. Morales - President of California State University, San Bernardino, Dr. Taitana Karjmanova - Dean of College of Extended Learning and Mrs. Helen Huntley - Vietnam Director, International Extension Programs. Prof. Tomas Morales also had a talk on the topic: “University Governance in the U.S” with crowded participation of NEU lecturers and staff.
On the same day, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat – President met Prof. Brian Jersky – Provost and Senior Vice President of California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Jeet Joshee – Associate Vice President and Dr. Michael Solt – Dean of College of Business Administration of California State University, Long Beach. After the meeting, the two President signed an Agreement for Articulation between CSULB and NEU for their mutual credit recognition.
The 60th Anniversary Ceremony of the National Economics University and the First-Class Labour Order Awarded Ceremony for the 2nd time
With its 60-year development, the National Economics University becomes one of the key universities in training managers in the field of economics and business management in Vietnam. In order to review its attainments as well as thank you to all-generation teachers for their dedication to education at NEU, on 12th Nov 2016, the National Economics University ceremonially organized the 60 anniversary ceremony and received the first-class Labour Order for the 2nd time.
Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat had a meeting wih Shakhes Pajouh Research Institute, Iran
On 23rd November 2016, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President of the National Economics University had a meeting with Dr. Amir Mahmoudzadeh - Director of Shakhes Pajouh Research Institute, Iran. After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat and Dr. Amir Mahmoudzadeh formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding on joint education, research, student and staff exchange as well as academic materials exchange.
Field trip of NEU delegation to the Kingdom of Cambodia in December 2016
Within the framework of cooperation between Ministry of Tourism Cambodia and National Economics Univesity, according to the invitation of the Minister of Tourism, twenty eight lecturers and staff of NEU led by Dr. Bui Trung Hai - Secretary of NEU Youth Union had visited the Kingdom of Cambodia from 6 to 11 December 2016.
Signing ceremony between National Economics University and Hanoi Business Association
On 5th December, the National Economics University and Hanoi Business Association (HanoiBA) organized the signing ceremony in order to formally establish cooperation in training and recruitment. Thanks to this MOU, NEU students would have chance to experience production and business in reality.
National Economics University and UNDP jointly organized thematic discussion: "Curbing Corruption in Land Admission: Case Studies and Policy Implications"
In response to International Anti-Corruption day 9th December, on 8th December, National Economics University and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) jointly organized the thematic discussion on "Curbing Corruption in Land Admission: Case Studies and Policy Implications", capturing a lot ot national and international attention. At the discussion, NEU researchers figured out the new approach to corruption in land admission which should be put in Law on Curbing Corruption and related regulations.

Prof. Dr Tran Tho Dat - President had a meeting with Mr. Chung Chiapin - Legislator, The Legistative Yuan of the Republic of China and President of Taiwan-Vietnam Congressional Association
At the meeting, Mr. Chung Chiapin said that Taipei Government established many policies aimed at boosting educational collaboration, especially in expanding and developing partnership with Vietnamese universities. He desired to enhance cooperation with Ministry of Education and Training as well as seek new cooperative chances with universities in Vietnam.

On 22 December 2016, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President and Mr. Mark Billington - ICAEW Regional Director in South East Asia signed the Memorandum of Understanding. This event marked the milestone in relationship between the two sides, contributing to NEU development in the future.
NEU delegation vistied universities in Netherlands and France
From 13 to 22 December 2016, NEU delegation led by Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - President visited Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Netherlands and signed an agreement on student and staff exchange with the aim to provide lecturers, students with opportunities to exchange experiences in teaching and researching. At L'Université Paris Nanterre (Paris X) and L'université Paris-XII in France, the universities discussed the cooperative potential and opportunities in joint education programs 3+2 and 4+1 in which NEU students would study bachelor program (3 or 4 years) at NEU and study master program in France (2 or 1 year).
