On the morning of May 3th, 2018, the National Economics University and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam and Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam organized a grand opening ceremony of the 5th Global Executive Management Program.
Attending the opening ceremony, there were Mrs. Lee Mi Yon, Consul General of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam; Mr. Kim Jin Oh - Chief Representative of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam; Mr. Hong Sun - General Secretary Korea Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam; Mr. Yun Sang Ho - President of the Korean Association in Hanoi; Mr. Kim Hak Kyu - Chairman of Alumni Association, Global CEO; Mr. Kim Jung In - President of the National Unification Peace Association; Ms. Park Jun Jung - Director of Korea Information Technology Cooperation Center in Hanoi; Mr. Song In Soo - Chairman of MDA Engineering and Construction Company; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chief Editor of The Investor Newspaper; Mr. Dang Xuan Minh - Director of AVM Vietnam Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - General Secretary of Vietnam Banks Association.
From NEU, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President; Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Head of International Cooperation Department; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Thang - Dean of The Asia-Pacific Institute of Management; Dr. Dang Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of School of Banking and Finance; Assoc. Prof. Mai Ngoc Anh - Vice Dean of Science Management Office; Dr. Bui Trung Hai - Deputy Director of Political Affairs and Student Affairs Department. On behalf of the Program Director, there were the presence of Prof. Lee Young Gie - Program Manager; together with all Global CEOs, faculty, counselors, students and alumni.
Addressing the opening and introduction of the program, Prof. Lee Young Gie, Program Director said that the Global Executive Management Program is a program for senior leaders from Korea and Vietnam. This is a practical and useful program in the context of the rapid economic development of both Vietnam and Korea. The program takes place within 21 weeks at the 29th floor Grand Plaza Hotel, Hanoi. The initial plan is to enroll 20 Vietnamese students and 20 Korean ones, but with the expectation of learning and exchanging, the program attracted 66 trainees. This is one of the success of the program when the first session of the class began with only 12 students. After 5 years, the program has trained 90 graduates. Theoretical courses are taught by experienced lecturers from both Korea and Vietnam. In addition, the program is also associated with practical experience as well as meaningful social activities. Prof. Lee Young Gie expects all graduates to become key leaders in Vietnam's development.
Opening the speech, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - the President of NEU shared: "Today, the National Economics University is very pleased and excited to welcome the great delegates, students from Korea to attend this solemn ceremony. The Executive Management Program is a unique training program at the National Economics University. I am happy to see that the course is more and more diverse, attractive and attracting many students from both Korea and Vietnam. " On this occasion, the Prof. Tran Tho Dat thanked all delegates especially thanks to Prof. Lee Young Gie - Program Manager for their attendance of the ceremony. Prof. Tran Tho Dat also gave the special thank to the Korean Embassy and Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA for their support, facilitation of these courses.
Also at the opening ceremony, Mrs. Lee Mi Yon, Consulate General of Korea in Vietnam, said that Korea was currently the largest foreign investor in Vietnam with more than the investment of 6,000 Korean enterprises . In order to develop the Global Executive Management Program in the near future, it is necessary to strengthen the cooperation among the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam, the Korean Embassy, the National Economics University.
