With the goal of fostering and improving research capacity for lecturers, graduate students and students of the University, on the afternoon of October 22, 2019, National Economics University held a seminar "The Australian Tax System: An overview and priorities for reform"
Attending the seminar, from the Australian National University (ANU), there were Prof. Dr. Robert Breunig - Director of the Institute of Tax and Transfer Policy, Crawford School of Public Policy - keynote speaker; Ms. Liz Ingram - Director of International Admissions Center; Ms. Le Ngan - Deputy Director of International Admissions Center. From the National Economics University, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council; and representatives of departments, faculties, institutes and centers in the whole school, together with many PhD students and students in the whole school.
Keynote speaker of the seminar - Prof. Dr. Robert Breunig is one of Australia's leading public policy economists and has published in more than 50 international academic journals on economics and public policy. Prof. Breunig has made a significant impact on the policy through several of his research projects: the relationship between child care and the supply of female workers; the impact of immigration on Australia on the Australian labor market; the effects of cash transfer from food stamps in the US food stamp program and intergenerational disadvantage …
The seminar introduced Prof. Dr. Bre Breig's insights and academic exchange on some topics such as Tax Conversion System; tax?; what is not taxable; or some institutional aspects of taxation in Australia ... to faculty and students of the University.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council had a warm reception and an intimate talk with Prof. Dr. Robert Breunig in the Thriving Room. At the reception, Prof. The Chairman of the School Council emphasized that National Economics University and Australian National University have had a special cooperation in recent years, and expressed their beliefs and hope that the two universities will have more cooperation programs and helpful seminars to help lecturers and students have access to in-depth and high quality knowledge as well as modern and academic training environment. Prof. President of the University Council hopes Prof. Dr. Robert Breunig will have a successful and interesting seminar at the National Economics University.
