On the afternoon of October 28th, 2021, National Economics University organized a scientific workshop : "Promoting sustainable business in agriculture in Vietnam".
At the workshop, there were Mr. Dang Van Cuong - Head of OCOP Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Ms. Bui Viet Anh – Institute of Strategy and Policy, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Director of the Central Institute of Economic Management; Mr. Luu Duc Khai - Head of Policy Department of Central Institute of Economic Management; Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong – Lecturer at Banking Academy; Ms. Phung Thu Ha - UNDP Representative in Vietnam.
On the side of National Economics University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of NEU Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy of Real Estate and Resource Economics Faculty; together with representatives of units in the university.
At the opening of the workshop , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council emphasized that agriculture was strongly shifting to a market economy associated with industrialization, modernization and internationally economic integration. There has been a wide variety of programs with the themes: restructuring the agricultural sector, building and developing rural areas, and promoting sustainable agriculture.
The workshop focused on the following topics: principles in sustainable business in agriculture in Vietnam; the assessment of the adoption of sustainable business in agriculture cooperatives in Vietnam; agriculture production methods; the training programs about agricultural business in universities today.
At the workshop, many proposals and contributing ideas about sustainable agriculture were performed and discussed. As a result, the workshop found effective solutions to the problem of developing sustainable agriculture.
