On 11th Jan, 2017, Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson - President of the University of Akron, the U.S accompanied by Prof. Dr. PattrickGuaghan - Professor of Law, Assistant Dean of Global Engagement, the University of Akron had paid his visit to the National Economics University (NEU)
On NEU side, attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Tran ThoDat – President, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung – Director of International Cooperation Department, Assoc Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – Dean of Faculty of Law, and MBA. Pham Sy Long – Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department.

A great cheer up from NEU President for Prof. Dr. Wilson’s trip to NEU, Prof. Dr. Tran ThoDat shared the history of NEU development as well as its proud position as one of the top universities in Vietnam especially in training economics and business management. The President emphasized that NEU would always be willing to foster its cooperative relationships with the U.S universities, especially with high-ranking university like the University of Akron which was adopt at teaching economics and business management.

Thanks for NEU’s warm hospitality, Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson shared that he impressed and highly appreciated all NEU’s efforts and its achievements during over the past 60 years. He also highlighted that signing MOU was the first step to set up bilateral relationship between the two institutions, and their cooperation would start by his talk on the topic “UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG): Some perspectives from USA” at NEU after the meeting.

After the formal meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran ThoDat and Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson signed the MOU between the two universities. It would be the first framework to advance their cooperative relationships and friendship.
