From March 21st to March 27th 2018, the delegation from the National Economics University (NEU) led by Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the university had an effective working week at the prestigious Trinity College Dublin (TCD) of the Republic of Ireland.
Attending the delegation of the university, there were Assoc. Prof. Truong Thi Nam Thang - Director of the Center for Social Care and Education, National Economics University; MB. Dinh Anh Tuan - Lecturer in Investment.
At the exchange and work between the two universities, from Trinity College Dublin (TCD), there were Prof. Andrew Burke - President of Trinity Business University; Prof. Dr. Fiona Killard - Associate Dean for Scientific Research at Trinity College Dublin; Ms. Fedelma McNamara - Director of International Development; Mr. Simon Williams – Director of Business and Community Development, Trinity College Dublin.
The visit aimed to exchange specific objectives and content in the implementation of the Vietnam- Ireland Bilateral Education Exchange (VIBE). The VIBE project was funded by Irish Aid with a view to accelerating innovation for the social and business model of the two countries. The visit and work also exchanged and found opportunities for cooperation between the universities in general and the Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship of NEU in particular with the institutes and units of Trinity University College Dublin.
Trinity College Dublin is the top university in the Republic of Ireland and is in the top 100 universities in the world by the QS Ranking in 2017. With over 400 years of history, TCD is one of the 25 oldest universities in the world. Trinity Business School (TBS) is a business and management training institute under the TCD, established in 1921. TBS conducts teaching and awards five bachelor's and master's degrees and more than 20 master's degree programs, including the MSc Digital Marketing Strategy, rank 13th in the world.
VIBE's direct partner in the TCD project is the Center for Social Innovation (CSI), which will co-operate with the NEU's Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2018 and 2019 to implement activities include: research; exchange programs and teaching methods on social innovation and social entrepreneurship; create digital maps of social impact models in Vietnam.
The delegation worked with Trinity CSI's research team, visited social enterprises in Dublin, discussed the project's 2-year implementation plan, including two research papers, two seminars, international forums in Vietnam and Ireland, development and implementation of digital maps on social impact enterprises. The delegation shared and discussed teaching activities on NEU's Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Trinity College Dublin and two centers NEU CSIE and Trinity CSI.
The visit promises to open more opportunities for cooperation between the two universities in research and teaching activities in several areas besides social innovation and social enterprise.
