Strict process for JED to officially enroll in the list of journals in the Scopus directory
JED is a scientific journal in the field of economics and development with two versions: the English version releases 4 issues/year on Emerald Publishing House's system, and the Vietnamese version publishes 12 issues/year. Since its official presence on the Emerald Publishing System database in May 2019, JED has published 15 issues with 104 research articles by authors from 45 countries worldwide, in which the number of foreign authors accounts for more than 70%. JED has an annual article acceptance rate of about 10%, demonstrating high selectivity in scientific quality in each review stage. As of the fourth quarter of 2023, JED has a Citescore index (Scopus impact index) of 3.96, including the fields of Economics and Econometrics, Finance, and Development, which are all in the high percentile Q2. By the end of 2023, JED has been indexed in Scopus, EconLit, EBSCO, Cabell's Directories, Discovery Service, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), Google Scholar, WorldCat, Proquest...
During the journey to join Scopus, JED has carried out a series of activities to enhance internationalization and recognition on academic forums, such as successfully coordinating NEU's annual international scientific conference series on "Contemporary Issues in Economics, Management and Business" (CIEMB); Invite reputable scholars and scientists who are Editors-in-Chief of the world's leading journals to join the Editorial Council; Attract and order reputable foreign and Vietnamese scientists to write new topics within the scope of JED's publication; Collaborate with Emerald Publishing Limited to promote JED's image on scientific forums...
JED's inclusion in the Scopus index is a big step forward, contributing to implementing the National Economics University's development strategy to become a university with a world academic reputation. JED joining Scopus also affirms the quality of research and contributes to strengthening the recognition and spread of Vietnamese scientific knowledge in international academic forums. This achievement is a testament to persistent efforts, full of internationalization aspirations of generations of leaders, the NEU pedagogical collective, and generations of JED leaders and officials over the past 10 years. This success demonstrates the enthusiastic contributions and support of the Editorial Board members, review experts, and domestic and international scholar networks. This result is also supported by effective direction and support from the Ministry of Education and Training through the JED Upgrade Project since 2019 and strong and effective reciprocal resource investment from NEU.
Maintaining and developing JED at higher rankings in the future requires JED to maintain professional rigor, ensure compliance with publishing ethics, and increase influence in the scientific community. In addition, the scope of JED's publications will focus more on fundamental research areas such as sustainable development in the new context to contribute more to domestic, regional, and global science and join the international scientific community databases such as Web of Science's SSCI.
