On 10 November 2017, the International Conference "Quality and Efficiency of International Joint Training Programs" was held at Level 10, Building A2 of the National Economics University .
From distinguished guests, there were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vang - Educational Expert, Former Director of International Cooperation Department; Mr. Eric Molay - Attaché of University and Scientific cooperation of the French Embassy in Hanoi; Ms. Ngo Phuong Linh - Official of Education Department, Australian Embassy in Hanoi; Mr. Lee Ming - Director of Education Division, Prof. Dr. Tony Lee - Director of Science and Technology Division, Tapei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; Prof. Matthew Wilson - President of the Univeresity of Akron, USA; Ms. Jung Sun Kim - Vice President of Dongseo University, Korea; Dr. Lee Young Gie - CEO Academy Advisor, KOICA; representatives of CPA Australia, ICAEW, ACCA and etc.

Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chaiman of NEU Council delivered opening remark
Making the opening remark at the conference, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chairman of NEU Council stated that the conference provided a discussion forum that would benefit university leaders, program managers, policy-makers, researchers, lecturers, students, and all like-minded people aspiring to uphold the quality and efficiency of higher education programs as per the international standards. "It can be seen that the objectives of the international joint training programs could be gathered into two main groups: the economic efficiency objectives and the academic quality objectives. While the economic efficiciency objectives focus on increasing enrollments, generating revenue and reducing costs, the academic quality ones emphasize on developing the training capacity of the universities and creating high-quality educational opportunities for the society". On behalf of NEU Board of Management, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha expressed sincere thanks to delegates, experts, scholars for participating in the conference, and to CPA Australia, TECO and Alumni of CEO Academy for their supporting grant for the event.

The conference included two sessions with the topics "Higher education internationalization" and "Current situation of international joint training programs in higher education".
The specific objectives off conference are as: to build a network of individuals fromhigher education institutions who aspire to uphold the quality and efficiency of higher education programs; to build a quality and efficiency mindset for higher education administrators at all levels; to sharecase studies, experiences, and practicalsolutions on continuous quality and efficiency improvement journeys from practitioners across higher education institutions in Vietnam and other countries; and to provide recommendations for policy makers in education of Vietnam to revise their curent legal framework on managing joint training programs. The conference received attention of many leaders and scholars from Vietnamese and foreign universities. There are 19 paper approved and published in the conference proceedings.
