gradually “tapered” . After over 30 years of economic transition, the economic
growth mainly focuses on the increase of input resources, especially capital
intensive; meanwhile, resource efficiency has been low and improved slowly,
causing low growth and low productivity comparing to other countries. All prevents Vietnam from bridging
the gap with other nations. According to Dr. Tran Tho Dat, institution reform,
especially ownership, fair competition and transparency play a key role in
effective and efficient resource distribution which acts as an incentive for
growth economic model and economy restructuring.
At the workshop, professors had discussions about results as
well as limitations and reasons relating to perfecting the socialist- oriented market economy and
evaluated institution barriers that have influence on sustainable development.
At the same time, the realities were then assessed and solutions were
recommended and figured out, which would create effective resource distribution
and utility.
The conference did receive a great attention from managers
of ministries, state departments, scientists, institutions with 35 papers.
The discussion mainly focused on results, limitations and
reasons for perfecting socialist- oriented market economy over the time;
recommending solutions to institution barriers relating to the development of factor
markets, other types of markets and resource distribution.
