Tourism and leisure are two activities that always exist in parallel and have a mutual relationship in the development process. Tourism is the environment, the basis for human creativity and leisure activities. In contrast, leisure activities are considered part of the tourism industry and are indispensable for the development of the smokeless industry in the world as well as in Vietnam today. Regarding tourism growth, especially the growth of international tourist arrivals, the Asia Pacific is the region with the highest tourism growth rate in the world, with an increase of 6.7%/year from 2010 to 2019, in which the growth rate of Asean is about 10%/year and of Vietnam is 17.3%/year during this period. According to the forecast of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), in the next 10 years (from 2022 to 2032), the Asia Pacific region continues to be the region with the fastest tourism recovery rate after the Covid-19 pandemic with an annual rise of 8.5%, much higher than the average growth rate of world tourism of 5.8%/year and global GDP growth of 5.8%/year. 2.7%. WTTC also forecasts that in the next decade, the recovery of world tourism will create 120 million new jobs, of which about 65% of these will be in the Asia Pacific region. Therefore, it can be said that in the coming years, tourism and leisure will be one of the most active sections and will make more positive contributions to the economic development of Vietnam as well as the Asia Pacific region. With the aim of enhancing research activities, international academic exchanges in the field of tourism and leisure, updating tourism development trends as well as new trends in tourism research, and further clarifying the role and relationship between tourism and leisure in the tourism development of Vietnam and the region in the coming time, the National Economics University in collaboration with J.F.
