On the afternoon of October 11, 2019, Mr. Andrew Mason - Economist, Chief of East Asia-Pacific Office of the World Bank had a seminar with the topic “Update on the East region's economic situation. Asia and the Pacific ”at the National Economics University.
Attending the seminar were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Vice Rector; Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Quang Canh - Deputy Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development; MSc Pham Sy Long - Deputy Head of International Cooperation Division; with a wide range of interested experts, scientists, lecturers and students.

Reportedly, Mr. Andrew Mason is the chief economist of the East Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the World Bank. He spent 5 years in managing the Social Protection Division and Global Practice for Employment in Central Asia and Europe. His main research interests include poverty reduction, gender equality, labor, and social protection.
Before that, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council had a warm reception and chat with Mr. Andrew Mason. At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on digital economy and the priority of governments in developing infrastructure for inclusive growth. Prof. Chairman of the School Council hopes Mr. Andrew Mason will have a successful and interesting seminar at the National Economics University.
