On the morning of November 8, 2019, the National Economics University in collaboration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and Cardiff Metropolitan University (United Kingdom) co-organized an international scientific conference ICFAA with the topic: Contemporary Issues in Accounting, Auditing and Finance with the participation of scientists, scholars, research agencies and other domestic and international management.
Attending the seminar there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Deputy Director of Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Dang Van Thanh - Chairman of Vietnam Accounting - Auditing Association; Ms. Vu Le Huong - Education Development Director - Institute of Certified Public Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW); Prof. Ho Yew Kee - Singapore Institute of Technology, the keynote speaker of the seminar. From the National Economics University, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council; Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - President of the school; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Anh - Director of Institute of Accounting - Auditing; with representatives of departments, faculties, institutes and centers in the whole school; representatives of universities and colleges nationwide; partners; scientists, academics, research institutions, and national and international authorities.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department shared: "In the context of integration and globalization of socio-economic, in particular, we are all currently facing the opportunities and challenges from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, or the Digital Age, the pressing need in higher education is to enhance innovation in development. Developing curriculum, building high quality human resources to meet new demands of the domestic and international market. The Ministry of Education and Training is seeking ideas, opinions and recommendations related to education and training in Accounting, Auditing and Finance in the context of international integration. We are very interested in contributions to the implementation of the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework, and it is likely that the recommendations in this workshop will support the development of program standards and learning outcomes for the majors of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, thereby contributing to improving the quality of Vietnamese higher education according to regional and international standards.
