Attending the program, from the US Embassy in Vietnam, there were Ms. Mary Beth Polley - Information and Cultural Counselor, and staff working at the Embassy. On the side of the National Economics University, there was Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong -President of the University; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu - Vice President; together with representatives of Departments, Faculty, Institutes and Centers; staff, lecturers, and numerous students.

On behalf of the University's leader, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong ] welcomed the US Embassy delegation to visit the National Economics University. Chat with Mr. Marc. E. Knapper, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong shared: "Recognizing the importance of international cooperation in education, National Economics University always prioritizes expanding academic cooperation with partners are highly appreciated around the world. Thanks to its achievements in this field, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has praised and recognized NEU as one of the few universities with diverse and effective international cooperation programs in linking training and scientific research". Since 1992, National Economics University has cooperated with US partners in capacity-building projects and joint training and student exchange programs.
Professor Pham Hong Chuong expressed his belief that Mr. Marc E. Knapper's talk will give NEU students a comprehensive picture of the economic relationship between Vietnam and the United States, helping them broaden their horizons about international trade and the global economy while supporting their studies at the School.

Through discussion with the President of National Economics University, Mr. Marc. E. Knapper wishes to expand cooperative links between higher education institutions in the United States and National Economics University through cooperation and development of training programs and especially wishes to increase the number of students exchanged between institutions. The Ambassador hopes that more and more American students will know and choose National Economics University as a destination for educational and cultural exchange activities.
Overview of the talk
According to the Ambassador, the comprehensive strategic partnership between the United States and Vietnam is truly spread across many socio-economic fields, including trade, finance, investment, education, technology, defense and tourism, which have brought positive contributions to peace, prosperity and sustainable development, not only for the two countries of Vietnam and the United States, but also for the joint region Indo-Pacifc.
With the theme "Vietnam - United States Economic Cooperation", Ambassador Marc. E. Knapper said that in the post-Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam maintains its position as a market with solid development and many potential opportunities for partners in the United States. The United States remains Vietnam's largest export market in 2022. With a long-term signed bilateral trade agreement - a premise for joining and becoming a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) of Vietnam, the United States continues to wish to accompany Vietnam in developing a transparent, inclusive, and sustainable market for goods and services.

The Ambassador proposed that Vietnam's economy needs sustainable growth based on innovation, jointly creating economic and social activities, and joining hands with the efforts of both countries and the world to adapt to climate change towards sustainable development.
The Ambassador also inspires the young generation to actively cultivate and develop knowledge about new fields in the digital economy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology... to take advantage of new opportunities soon.
At the program, the University's students asked many questions and discussed with the Ambassador about issues such as the current US economy, the economic cooperation relationship between the two countries as well as advice for studying and working in the United States...
Students of the National Economics University gave flowers to thank the Ambassador
It is known that National Economics University is one of the first universities in Vietnam to implement an international joint training program with about 20 programs at both levels: undergraduate and graduate. From 2012-2020, the University launched the Bachelor of Management program in collaboration with the University of California at San Bernardino (CSUSB) and the Master of Financial Economics in partnership with Ohio University.
Currently, the National Economics University is implementing two cooperative programs with US partners, including the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Business Development (2016-2023) - a joint program with Boise University State and NEUA-MBA (2018-2028) - within the framework of cooperation with Andrews University. All international programs are highly rated and attract many excellent students.
National Economics University also focuses on the importance of developing international exchange programs to promote academic and cultural exchange between Vietnamese and international students, create conditions for students to achieve global educational progress, and build global networks.
National Economics University has established official relationships with US partners to implement student and faculty exchange programs, including Boise State University (2019-2023), University of California at San Bernardino (2019-2023), University of California at Riverside (2022-2023), University of South Carolina (2022-2023), University of Akron (2018-2023), University of Georgia (2017-2022).
Every year, the National Economics University also sends many students to partner universities and welcomes international students to participate in the experience of studying and living in Vietnam.
