In the afternoon of April 11, 2019, the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Program took place between National Economics University and Australian National University.
Attending the ceremony, from the National Economics University, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President; Dr. Dao Thanh Tung - Head of International Cooperation Department; Dr. Le Viet Thuy - Director of the Center for Applied Information Technology. On the side of the Australian National University, there are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vinh Lu - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and Business; Prof. Andrew Bradly - Senior lecturer in charge of exchange programs; Ms. Marina Naumouska - Exchange program coordinator; and 30 students from the Australian National University.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - NEU President said: “The cooperation and training relationship between National Economics University and Australian National University was established for a long time. Currently, two universities are implementing many training affiliate programs, including 1 + 1 Master program in Development Economics, Environment and International Economics. This summer course is a bridge to further strengthen the deep cooperation between the National Economics University and Australian National University”. Professor President emphasized that the university had been always ready to create all conditions to receive international students and open the door to welcome Australian National University students to exchange and study at the National Economics University.
Also at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vinh Lu - Deputy Director of the Institute of Business and Economics said that Australian National University delegation was very happy and honored to be at the National Economics University in this summer course. The delegation was very grateful for the hospitality, professional style of the university staff and the enthusiasm of the students of the National Economics University. During the time in Hanoi, the delegation had a lot of experience through activities: visiting the business, going to the scenic places in Vietnam, learning about the Vietnamese economy through lectures, or studying. Vietnamese ... Students of the University had the opportunity to interact with the Vietnamese culture, economy and society through lectures and guidance of lecturers. Thereby, students had grown up a lot and he hoped that Australian National University students would have the opportunity to return to Vietnam to study, work or invest in the future. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Vinh Lu would like to express his sincere thanks to the University for facilitating the delegation during their studies at the National Economics University and thank the International Cooperation Department for their efforts in reception, and organization of the program.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, student Catherine Risbey shared that this was a great opportunity for her students to attend this summer course. For the first time, she learned to know the country and people of Vietnam, had experiences in culture, economic knowledge and expanded her relationship with Vietnamese friends. She was very happy when she was welcomed and joined by all the students of the Ambassador of the National Economics University. This was a wonderful, memorable trip in her life. She hoped that there would be more opportunities to return to Vietnam and wish the cooperation between the two universities would grow.
