From August 26th to September 9th 2017, Prof. Tran Tho Dat paid a visit to Australian National University and Flinders University. This was a segment of sponsored program of Australian government assisting Australian alumni to do a research on “Institutional changes to enhance the quality of educational management at National Economics University: experience of Australian universities and implication for Vietnamese universities”.
The delegation included Assoc Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Bich – Dean of Faculty of Statistics, M.S. Le Viet Thuy – Vice Dean of Educational Management Department, Assoc Prof.Dr. Dinh Duc Truong – Vice Dean of Faculty of Urban and Environment, M.S Ngo Thi Phuong Thao - Faculty of Real Estate and Natural Resources Management.
At the meeting with Australian National University, Prof. Tran Tho Dat worked with Anne Baly – Head of International Co-operation Department , Ms. Jo Higgins – Head of Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, Mr. Jonathan Damper - Manager of International co-operation program, representative for Crawford School, Australian National University. Two sides had exchanged information about organizational structure, the content of trainning programs, the education quality assessment system, the methods to enhance the education quality in university and the co-operation content between two universities in the future.
NEU delegation also had opportunity to attend the 72-year anniversary Meeting of National Day of Viet Nam in Canberra under the observation of more than 100 representatives of embassy.
At Flinders University, NEU delegation worked with Prof. Phyllis Tharenou – Vice President of Flinders University and President of University of Business, State Management and Law, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Kerry Bissaker, Mr. Matt Taverner – Director of segment of associate center and student services, Ms. Britta Schmid- specialist in assisting education and international co-operation, Mr. Chris Bishop - Head of General Office along with all university’s lecturers. The aim of the meeting was to learn more about training management model and the renovation which Flinders had applied to improve the education quality and administration efficiency. They also discussed detailed plans within the Agreement signed between two universities such as academic exchange and scientific researches among lectures, transfering students to Flinders following programs 2+2 or 3+1 and scholarship programs for NEU’s gifted students to study in Flinders in the future.
